I make no secret of my love for vintage saxophones. Although they are not right for everyone, and despite their sometimes quirky intonation, I prefer the uniqueness of their tone, as well as its complexity. That’s why almost all the saxophones I play—from soprano thru bass—are professional models from the 1980s or older, stemming from the Germanic regions of Europe.
The pages in this section feature the finest professional horns from saxophone manufacturers in the Germanic regions in Europe built during the 20th century. I have paid special attention to some of the brands that are obscure, and/or about which very little information is available. Or brands that I have a special interest in, and that I have researched extensively.
Note for 2025
It should go without saying that this section, like the rest of the site, is a work in progress. As more of the site gets restored, more pages and links will appear.
