Hello, and welcome to the new, Bassic Sax Blog and Bassic Sax website.
As many of you likely know, the original Bassic Sax Blog and website have been offline for more than 2 months now. This all happened while I was out of the country.
Truth is, I had been having problems prior to the great crash of 2025, and had hired someone to fix it. Unfortunately the fix didn’t stick. Then my hosting company tried to fix things, but that only made it worse. Now this… Sigh…
I was given the name of a company that specializes in this type of work, but after they investigated it, they said they couldn’t help me. Now I have reached out to someone else to see if they might be able to restore the site. Again… Sigh…
In the meantime I have been slammed with personal stuff and incredible stress, so I haven’t had time to practice and learn all the nuances of the new-to-me Couf alto that I got at my favorite vintage sax shop: Bellingham Wind Works. Thank you Ed! This baby is exactly what I was looking for that lead alto spot I am going to be filling, and is the perfect companion for my Keilwerth Shadow tenor I also got from Wind Works the previous year. (I am still hoping to fill out that JK series of mine with a soprano from them in the future.) 😉

So what will all this look like when I’m done? Quite frankly, I’m not sure. I haven’t yet decided what to do. All I know is that there is a lot of good information that I would like to make sure doesn’t get lost, and that’s what I’m going to redo and update. Beyond that????
I hope you all stick around and see where this goes. In the meantime, feel free to leave a comment in my Guestbook and let me know that you found this place.
If you’re feeling generous, I would very much appreciate a donation to help offset the costs that I’m incurring as a result of this cluster. Thank you.
