- Hohner President pages back & updated

I am very excited to announce that the Hohner President saxophone pages are back. I carefully reviewed all the material before publishing this section, and updated the parts that needed it.
If you were familiar with the Hohner President section on the old Bassic Sax.info site, you might remember it—like almost all the information pages—were incredibly long. Some didn’t even have navigational jump tags at the top.
For this new site I have opted to break the long pages up, as well as have navigational jump tags to help get you to the sections you are looking for.
In addition to all the information you could possibly want on the Phase 1, 2, 3, as well as Transitional model horns, I have included both the English and German original brochures I picked up on eBay.
What’s new?
For this update, one of the things I have included that’s new is a section on the high F# key found on many pre-13xxx alto and tenor Hohners, and how these evolved from the Phase 2 to Phase 3 models.
I would be very interested to speak with some Phase 3 tenor owners to see what their experiences are with their high F#, as well as Phase 2 and 3 alto owners who have horns keyed to high F#. Since I have never played an President alto keyed to high F#, I am curious if these Hohners have the same intonation quirks that their tenor cousins had.
If you are the owner of either a Hohner alto and tenor—regardless of vintage—and would like to talk to me about your horn, please leave a comment here. We can chat through the comments or via email.
Over the next while I will go through my Hohner articles on the old Bassic Sax Blog and find the ones that are still relevant and get them updated and published for this Series.
